This individual will be involved in the analysis, design and construction of interesting waterfront projects in local and remote locations. We are a growing coastal and marine engineering firm with projects throughout Florida, Caribbean and Latin America, serving both private and public clients.
- RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinating and executing field investigations, such as surveying, geotechnical borings, and condition assessments of existing coastal structures.
Engineering design of new, and repair/replacement of coastal structures.
Development and production of design drawings and specifications.
Technical support for obtaining environmental regulatory approvals.
Construction bid packages.
Project management and team communication.
Provide mentorship to younger engineers within the company.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage production schedules.
Keep organized records of project related decisions and documents.
Lead RFQ and project pursuit proposals.

- QUALIFICATIONS
M.Sc. degree in Coastal Engineering
10-15 years of experience in coastal engineering
Advanced English technical writing and communication skills
Experience with coastal modeling software, e.g. MIKE21
Dive certification and/or strong water and boating skills a plus
Spanish fluency a plus
Professional Engineering License in Florida, or the ability to obtain or transfer from another state within six months

- QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (M.S. Degree preferred)
15+ years of experience in coastal/marine structural engineering
Advanced English technical writing and communication skills
Knowledge of AutoCAD software
Experience with structural design software (e.g. STAAD, SAP2000, or RAM Elements)
Knowledge of relevant design codes and practices (e.g. FBC, ACI-318, AISC, NDS, etc.)
Dive certification and/or strong water/boating skills a plus
Spanish fluency a plus

We are seeking motivated Summer Environmental Interns and Seasonal Associate Scientists to support coastal and marine environmental projects throughout Florida. These positions are paid and offer hands-on experience in marine fieldwork, environmental permitting, and applied coastal science.
Summer Environmental Interns will support both field and office tasks under close supervision, gaining exposure to benthic habitat assessments, data entry, environmental permitting and compliance, and basic environmental documentation. This role is designed to provide practical, hands-on learning and mentorship in applied coastal and marine science.
Seasonal Associate Scientists will focus exclusively on field-based work, supporting coastal and marine field efforts such as benthic habitat assessments, coral relocation, and environmental compliance monitoring. This role is suited for candidates with prior field experience who are comfortable working outdoors in variable conditions and who are proficient with identification of Florida’s protected resources (e.g., seagrass, corals).
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Support in-water marine resource surveys, including benthic habitat surveys, mapping and coral relocation.
– Assist with equipment inventory, maintenance, and organization
– Draft and contribute to technical monitoring reports and permit-related documentation
– Data entry and management
– Participate in office-based tasks related to environmental permitting, policy research, and project support
Location: Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter, or St. Petersburg, Florida
Duration: May 1st – October 31st (dates flexible)
Schedule: Part-time and Full-time opportunities
- QUALIFICATIONS
– Poses a B.S. in marine biology or a related field
– Experience conducting in-water surveys using snorkeling equipment
– Coursework or experience in local benthic ecology (e.g., corals, seagrass)
– Strong interest in environmental regulations and policy related to coastal construction
– Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills
– Ability to work in challenging field conditions (heat, sun, boat-based work
– Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
– Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
– Ability to pass a CPR/First Aid and Oxygen Administration Certification (*Possess a current certification preferred)
– Have a positive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work collaboratively in both field and office setting

- ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR SEASONAL ASSOCIATE SCIENTISTS
– Enrolled in a graduate program or possess a graduate degree in marine biology or a related field
– Experience conducting in-water surveys using Scuba equipment; scientific diving experience preferred. Must provide a dive log showing dives for 2024 – present.
– Proficient identification in Florida’s protected resources (e.g., seagrass, corals).
– Ability to pass a Scuba diving physical prior to fieldwork (*Possess a current physical preferred)
- RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist design engineers in project management and administrative tasks, contributing to marine, waterfront, and beach design and analysis
- Collaborate with governmental bodies such as the EPA, Army Corps of Engineers, NOAA, local environmental agencies, and private sector clients
- Utilize scientific methodologies to aid in the design of coastal engineering structures, wetlands, dredging programs, coastal resiliency, shoreline protection, and sediment management
- Gather field data through observations, sample collection, and review of laboratory and literature findings
- Employ various scientific and statistical tools, including computer-based models, to analyze data
- Create visual representations such as graphs and charts and compile synthesized data into reports for project managers
- Evaluate environmental data and potentially establish standards through comparative analysis
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Junior or Senior pursuing a BSc in Civil, Structural, Coastal, or Ocean engineering
- Pursing an MSc degree in Coastal or Ocean Engineering
- Advanced English technical writing and communication skills
- Knowledge of AutoCAD software
